The Mining Industry Hold'em for Life Charity Challenge 2012
Pinetree is a proud sponsor of the 3rd annual Mining Industry Hold'em for Life Charity Challenge on March 7, 2012. Event proceeds will benefit the following charitable organizations:
SickKids Foundation
SickKids Foundation is driven by the belief that improving the health and wellbeing of children on a local, national and international level is one of the most powerful ways to improve society. A portion of the funds raised in 2012 will be allocated to the new Research & Learning Tower which is under construction and slated for completion in 2013. The Tower will house SickKids Research Institute, one of North America’s largest and most productive hospital-based research centres with almost 2,000 staff working on more than 2,000 funded research projects and 2,400 clinical trials in children’s health.

Healthy Kids International
HKI supports the international projects of The Hospital for Sick Children. Its initiatives are rooted in the belief that children need home-grown medical practitioners who understand their countries’ social and cultural contexts. HKI aims to improve the health outcomes of the world’s most vulnerable children by creating long-term partnerships and encouraging global knowledge sharing.
B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation
Funds raised by B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation support B.C. Children’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children and the Child & Family Research Institute. As British Columbia’s only full-service acute care hospital, Children’s serves one million children living in B.C. and the Yukon. All seriously ill or injured children who are referred to Children’s are treated either at the hospital or in their home community in consultation with Children’s specialists. Since 1982, B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation has worked with children, families, caregivers and hundreds of thousands of British Columbians to give Children’s Hospital, and the Child & Family Research Institute the resources they need to excel.
