Pinetree has an experienced management team with a track record of success, a solid accounting back-office and superb administrative staff:

Sheldon Inwentash, Chairman and CEO

As Chairman and CEO, Sheldon Inwentash is responsible for creating the overall strategic vision and setting the direction for Pinetree. A true entrepreneur, Sheldon began his investing career while still working to attain his Chartered Accountant designation in 1981. Over the last 15 years, Sheldon has started four significant businesses, including Pinetree Capital Ltd., Visible Genetics Inc., Mega Uranium Ltd., and Brownstone Ventures; three of which he still runs. Under his leadership, Pinetree has become a diversified strategic investment, financial advisory and merchant banking firm.

Sheldon brings more than 25 years of experience in the investment industry and a deep understanding of progressive investment and financial management strategies. A resource and commodity industry expert, Sheldon has been successfully investing in the resource market for most of his career.

In addition to his role at Pinetree, Sheldon is the Chairman and CEO of Mega Uranium, one of the fastest growing junior mining companies, identifying and acquiring global uranium properties. He is also the Chairman and CEO of Brownstone Ventures, an energy-focused investment company with direct interests in oil and gas properties around the world. Sheldon obtained his B.Comm from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant.


 
Gerry Feldman, CFO & Vice President, Corporate Development

Gerry Feldman joined Pinetree in May 2010 after serving as a Director of Pinetree.  He brings 28 years of Merger and Acquisition activities, corporate finance and financial experience.  Gerry will be responsible for, and involved in, corporate development, merger and acquisition activities and corporate finance.  Prior to joining Pinetree, Gerry was a senior Partner in a number of accounting firms where he provided consulting services to clients, specializing in audits of public companies and securities and mutual fund dealers.  In addition to his accounting and finance experience, he holds Senior Officer and Director positions in several junior mining companies that are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, including Brownstone Ventures Inc. and Mega Uranium Ltd. 


 
Richard Patricio, Vice President, Legal and Corporate Affairs

Richard Patricio joined Pinetree in November 2005 as Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs, and is responsible for merger and acquisition activity, corporate transactions and the administration of Pinetree.  In addition, Richard has overall responsibility for corporate governance and compliance issues.

Prior to joining Pinetree, Richard worked as in-house General Counsel for a senior TSX listed manufacturing company.  Prior to that, Richard practiced law at Osler LLP in Toronto where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities law and general corporate transactions.  His years of experience working with and for public companies are critical to building Pinetree’s public profile while ensuring the company remains compliant with the stock exchange rules.

In addition to his legal and corporate experience, Richard has built a number of mining companies with global operations.  He holds senior officer and director positions in several junior mining companies that are listed on the TSX and the TSX Venture exchanges, including Mega Uranium.  Richard received his law degree from Osgoode Hall and was called to the Ontario bar in 2000. 


 

Wendy Warhaft, General Counsel

Wendy Warhaft joined Pinetree Capital Ltd. in February 2007, as General Counsel. In this role, Ms. Warhaft provides, among other things, advice and assistance to management in respect of Pinetree’s corporate finance and M&A activities and its continuous disclosure and corporate governance matters. Ms. Warhaft brings extensive experience in corporate and securities law and was a partner in a top Canadian law firm prior to joining Pinetree. Ms. Warhaft holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Ottawa (Magna cum laude) and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance and International Business from McGill University (With Distinction) and is a member of the Ontario Bar.


Philip Williams, Vice President, Business Development

Philip Williams joined Pinetree Capital in January 2009 and was appointed to the position of Resources Analyst. Philip brings almost 10 years of financial market experience to the company. Prior to joining Pinetree, Philip spent five years working for several institutional brokerage firms in the equity research department. Most recently, he was a uranium analyst focused on companies with advanced development projects in Australia, the United States and Namibia.


Craig Stanley, Vice President, Research

Craig Stanley joined Pinetree in January 2009 as Resources Analyst. He is responsible for aiding the management of Pinetree’s existing portfolio as well as researching and analyzing new investment opportunities. Prior to joining Pinetree, Craig worked both as a buy-side and sell-side analyst, the former at a firm with over $1 billion in mining investments in actively managed mutual funds, exchange-traded closed-end funds and flow-through limited partnerships. Craig holds a Master of Science in Geology from The University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists, the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. 


Jamie Levy, B.A., Vice President, Trading, Head Trader
 
Jamie Levy brings years of trading experience to his position, as well as extensive transactional knowledge and execution.  Mr. Levy previously worked as a trader with Taurus Capital and Byron Securities and has been a trader for nearly 20 years.  Mr. Levy has been with Pinetree Capital since September 2007 and is responsible for Pinetree’s investment portfolio.
